Dragon Capital Ranked First for Equity Research in Thomson Reuters Extel Survey 2009

Dragon Capital ranked first among Ukrainian brokerage houses in the Thomson Extel Pan European Survey 2009 for having the best equity research. The results of the survey are based on the votes submitted by leading funds investing in the region.

Kyiv, June 17, 2009 – Dragon Capital ranked first among Ukrainian brokerage houses in the Thomson Extel Pan European Survey 2009 for having the best equity and equity-linked research. Results of the 36th annual survey were announced today.

Dragon Capital also won in individual ratings for Ukraine, with its two research analysts – Olena Bilan and Vitaliy Vavryshchuk – coming out on top in the nomination Best Investment Analyst in Ukraine, which was shared by three analysts this year.

The results of Pan European Survey 2009, which are based on votes submitted by leading funds invested in the region, are summarized in team and individual rankings of investment analysts and brokers.

The financial market turbulence that began in late 2008 led Thomson Reuters to reduce the number of nominations for Ukraine, which first appeared in the survey three years ago, as well as some other countries. Specifically, the agency decided to remove rankings of sector analysts and focus instead on the assessment of leading research teams and selection of best analysts in the category Emerging Markets – Ukraine - Country Analysis.

In the 2008 Thomson Extel Survey, Dragon Capital Head of Research Andriy Bespyatov was named Leading Research Analyst for Ukraine, Dragon Capital ranked third in Best Brokerage House category, while Dragon Capital analysts occupied 6 of the top 10 spots in the ranking of individual analysts All Investment Analysts – Ukraine.
