Astarta Holding — Attracts UAH 500m loan from Oschadbank

WSE-listed Astarta Holding, Ukraine’s largest sugar producer, attracted a UAH 500m ($13.7m) loan from state-owned Oschadbank. The company will use the funding to support its farming segment, including to acquire fertilizer and plant protection inputs for the fall planting season, as well as to acquire fuel and other inputs for the sugar refining season.

Astarta Holding — Reports 2Q22 operating results

WSE-listed Astarta Holding, Ukraine’s largest sugar producer, reported 2Q22 sugar sales in volume terms of 63 kt, up 14% y-o-y and 93% q-o-q, with sale prices averaging $684/t, up 9% y-o-y and 6% q-o-q. Quarterly grain and oilseed sales totaled 46 kt (-44% y-o-y and -80% q-o-q), including 33 kt of corn (-59% y-o-y), 10 kt of sunflower seed (vs. 0.1 kt in 2Q21) and 3 kt of wheat (+36%). Corn, wheat and sunflower prices averaged $245/t (+36% y‑o-y), $196/t (-18%) and $577/t (-20%).
