State oil and gas monopoly Naftogaz Ukrainy controls 100% of oil and gas transportation and storage and most of oil and gas extraction in Ukraine. The company operates a gas transit system with 38,000 km of pipelines, capable of importing 290 bcm and exporting 178 bcm of gas annually (including 140 bcm to Europe). Naftogaz’s key assets include Ukrnafta (near-monopoly producer of oil in Ukraine); Ukrgazvydobuvannya (largest producer of gas and gas products); Chornomornaftogaz (offshore oil and gas producer); Ukrtransnafta (oil pipeline operator); and Ukrtransgaz (gas pipeline operator).

Naftogaz — Russia attacks oil transit infrastructure

A Russian strike drone hit Naftogaz infrastructure in western Ukraine. Operational processes at the site were immediately suspended, and State Emergency Service teams were deployed, the company said. According to Forbes.ua, the targeted facility is located in the town of Brody and is part of the Druzhba oil pipeline system.

Naftogaz — Norway to provide EUR 340m in new energy sector aid, including for gas imports

Norway will provide NOK 4bn (EUR 340m) in support for Ukraine’s energy sector, including for gas imports and procurement of energy equipment, the country’s foreign minister said during a visit to Kyiv yesterday. Financing will be provided through established partners such as the EBRD.
